LIFE MEMBERSHIP BESTOWED
and NEW CLUB PRESIDENT ELECTED
On Sunday 15th August, Toodyay Friends of the River held its Annual General Meeting in Duidgee Park, Toodyay. This was preceeded by a hearty breakfast organised by Desrae Clarké.
Gaven Donegan, stepped down as President after three years at the helm (the Club's constitution allows only a term of three-year consecutive years). On his retirement, the Club's Patron, Viv Read, presented Gaven with Honorary Life Membership 'in recognition and appreciation of his dedicated contribution to our aims and objectives' over many years. Congratulations, Gaven!
Greg Warburton was then elected to the position of President. Greg is one of a dedicated band of Club members, and is particularly well-known for his dedication to removing litter from our Shire, and his skill with the Green Corp team. Congratulations Greg!
Other elected positions were:
Vice President: Desrae Clarke
Secretary: Robyn Taylor
Treasurer: Wayne Clarke
Committee: Bob and Beth Frayne, and Brian Shepherd. As there were a number of absentee members, they would be approached to fill the positions.
Project Officers: Gaven Donegan, Bethan Lloyd (on acceptance)
Patron: Viv Read
Honorary Auditor: Lloyd Chidlow (on acceptance)

LOTTERYWEST GRANT SUCCESS
The Toodyay Friends of the River, in association with the Toodyay Naturalists' Club, were successful in a grant application to Lotterywest for funding to purchase a laptop computer and a data projector (along with a rugged carry-case). The grant of $2,123 will enable both organisations to record all their relative data into their own computer, rather than personal computer's belonging to Club Members. The data projector will provide both organisations with the ability to showcase themselves, and their work.

The Toodyay Friends of the River Inc. meet on the third Sunday of each month at Duidgee Park, at 8am from October to April, then 9am May to September. Contact us for further details on times.
